Sue

Sue - Owner

Regarded as one of New Zealand's finest caterers, Susan developed her skills as a Chef alongside the best in some of the world's leading hospitality and catering companies, including the Savoy Group of Hotels in London. After working overseas for 15 years, Susan returned to New Zealand in 1995 with a vision to launch one of New Zealand's truly recognizable catering companies, and so The Great Catering Company was born. In 2005 Susan opened The Great Hiring Company to satisfy the constant need for fabulous catering equipment, tableware and linen required for Great Caterings functions.


Harald

Harald - Head Chef

Harald has had many years in catering and hospitality. Born and raised in Germany, Harald came to New Zealand to join the team at Te Papa in 2002 and also spent time in Ohakune. Now he has settled in Auckland. Harald is looking forward to the ski season and hopes to have some time for paragliding and golf. He does have odd cravings for beer, sausages and sauerkraut...


Angela

Angela - Event Manager

Angela joins us after many years in hospitality and is very proud to be one of the original brewers of Macs Sassy Red. She is our social bunny and enjoys great food, beer and music.


Jennifer

Jennifer - Event Manager

Jen has a lovely smile. We are sure that Jen was born in a commercial kitchen. Her family are originally from Hong Kong. Jen has spent many years running functions and worked in the family's food business. Jen likes playing squash, jogging and eating mangos.


Wayne

Wayne - Chef

Wayne has returned to NZ after 20 years in Australia to look after his parents. He loves finding his way around the kitchens of Auckland. He is our theatrical chef with a passion for people and always enjoys functions that involve a road trip.


Miranda (Panda)

Miranda (Panda) - Chef

Miranda has just returned from Vancouver over 3 years ago and fell into work at The Great Catering. Miranda completed her chef training at the end of 2004 at AUT. In her spare time Miranda loves snorkeling and being at the beach. Miranda wants to own a vineyard in Hawkes Bay after traveling and working overseas. (if we ever let her go)


Lavonia

Lavonia - Logistics Coordinator

Lavonia is as quiet as a mouse, we had to chase her around the kitchen to even get this photo! Shes the lynchpin in our organisation.


Francois

Francois - Kitchen Steward

Francois is our multilingual, poetry writing, tennis playing, morning coffee making, kitchensteward!
